Memorial Day 4 Day Weekend!

More than 200 students in 4th through 6th grades at Fall River and Burney Elementary Schools recently completed the BOTVIN LifeSkills Training program—an eight-week, nationally recognized, evidence-based curriculum focused on healthy decision-making and substance use prevention. This youth intervention program was led by TCCN and delivered by the director Marrisa Martin. Visit https://mayers.pub/44BlxmN to read more about this powerful investment in our youth!

What a wonderful compliment for our Jr. Raiders! Thank you Yoshiko Zimmerman! 🥰
“Thank you so much for holding the assemblies for the Japanese dancers yesterday! They absolutely loved performing at Burney Elementary. The dancers kept talking about the love they felt, and how enthusiastic the students and the staff members were. The students were very polite, and the dancers really enjoyed seeing their smiles!”

Thank you!

Thank you Word of Life - Burney, CA for your thoughtful and generous luncheon you provided for the staff at BES! It was so incredibly thoughtful and generous! We loved it!!! 🥰

What a great assembly!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Today, Awa Odori dancers visited from Japan to perform for our Jr. Raiders!!!
Awa Odori has a long history of over 400 years beginning on the island of Shikoku in Tokushima, Japan. An Awa Odori dance group is called a ren. The Awa Dance Festival is held every year in August in Tokushima. It is the largest dance festival in Japan, attracting over 1.3 million tourists every year. About 1,000 dance groups perform during the four days of the festival each summer.
The dancers who visit us today are the Taiko Ren from Nagoya, Japan. Taiko-ren was formed in 1971. The leader
Shigeki Ito was fascinated by the powerful and expressive Awa Odori and asked his friends to dance together.
Thank you to all the community members for hosting, Marcie Johnson for hosting dancers, everyone that attended the welcome potluck, helped with transportation and made this possible! Special thanks to Sarah Clark for her incredible efforts to coordinate this special assembly for our students!!! We are so appreciative!

Thank you to everyone that contributed to our first day of Staff Appreciation Week!
